The A-Z Ladder To Success

  BY CLIFFORD Mulama

Attitude

An attitude is simply the position of the body or way of carrying oneself. Always have a positive attitude towards your studies no matter how hard things may get. Remember, 'attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference' (Winston S. Churchill).

Believe in yourself and potentials

To believe is to accept something as being true. Once you believe that you are an achiever, you will definitely start working towards it come what may. Exhaust all the potential in you with the belief that you will indeed succeed. As Nikos Kazantzakis put it, 'in order to succeed we must first believe that we can. '

Curiosity

Always have that urge to know new concepts every now and then by asking questions in class and doing personal investigations. 'The most important thing is not to stop questioning, curiosity has its own reason for existing.' (Albert Einstein)

Devote

To devote is to give one's time, focus one's effort, commit oneself entirely to a certain matter. In this case, it is devoting to your academics. Once you devote all these to your academic work, there will be no reason as to why you don't succeed eventually. 'To be wholly devoted to some intellectual exercise is to have succeeded in life' (Robert Louis Stevenson)

Exceptionalize

Have a list of the do's and don'ts in your life then exceptionalize them. Exclude factors that may hinder your success and focus on those that add value to your success progress. 'To every rule, there is an exception-and an idiot ready to demonstrate it. Don't be the one. '

Friends

Your friends will always have a supper hand in determining your success. Keep the wrong friends and they will lead you to your downfall, keep the right friends and you will surely succeed. 'Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive' (Anais Nin). If you have the wrong friends then you will have a world of failure and if you keep the right friends then you will have a world of success.

To be continued...
