2015 KCSE MAY BE CANCELLED & STUDENTS FORCED TO RE-SIT

By JEMEDARI MWANAWAKIUME

Wednesday March 30, 2016 - The fate of the 2015 Kenya Certificate Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) now hangs in the balance after Members of Parliament suggested that it be cancelled and all students allowed to re-sit the exams this year.

Parliament, the Ministry of Education and the CID have as established that the exams were leaked and students cheated in a way that has never been seen before.

Legislators met Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi, yesterday and demanded for a fresh audit in the irregularities that rocked the 2015 national examinations.

The MPs expressed concerns over the audit earlier conducted by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) officers, who have since been suspended for engaging in the exam leakage, and which saw results of over 5, 000 students cancelled, saying the earlier audit cannot be relied upon because the former officers are the chief suspects in the saga.
