Dear comrades, Museveni is testing our patience over the Migingo Island and Uhuru is just watching. However, we must stand opposed to what seems to be a reckless disregard for the interest of both the current and the future generations of Kenya mainly the Luo Community. The late Mathematics Professor George Saitoti once said, "There comes a time when a nation is greater than an individual." This is the time.
On the Ugandan border, the Ugandan security personnels can match into Kenya whistling and prevent voter registration by arresting IEBC staff with impunity while on the Ethiopian border, the Ethiopian soldiers regularly cross into Kenya, kill and abduct Kenyans with impunity not forgetting the Alshabab terrorists who have taken hostage in the Somalian border from where they killed over a hundred KDF soldiers. They have also commandeered the Northern Counties of Kenya causing insecurity which is currently the national headache.
In addition, along our coastlines, we depend entirely on the Australian Navy to prevent entry of drugs and sophisticated arms into the country. Remember also that since our military camp in Elade county of Somalia was overran by the Alshabab terrorists, the government is unable to account for those killed. In the midst of all these, our government is busy 'disarming' duly elected governors like Ali Hassan Joho of Mombasa County and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi. How worse can this get?
Kibaki watched and Uhuru too is watching Museveni's moves to take the Migingo Island away from us. This is unprecedented in the Kenyan history. Even the founder president, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and his firebrand Jaramogi Oginga Odinga played their roles splendidly to preserve Kenya's territorial integrity. For instance, when the government of Somalia, then led by president Osman Abdalla Hassan claimed the Northern frontier district plus the people living in it, President Jomo Kenyatta dismissed Osman saying, "Not even an inch of Kenya's territory would be ceded to Somalia." He kept his word and Osman surrendered.
Then came Iddi Amin of Uganda who claimed part of Kenya all the way to Naivasha. Jomo Kenyatta dared lddi Amin saying, "The baboon will know that l am a son of a woman." This shows how serious our neighbors are in their thirst for the Kenyan territory. The land that our forefathers fought for. The land that prompted Oginga Jaramogi to communicate to the Europeans in a language they could halfly comprehend.
"Kenya is 'marwa'(ours). We shall take Kenya by 'thuon'(by force). Mboya don't fear. Be of good courage because 'oyieyo' (a rat) is incapable of passing through 'yiendambewa'(the roof).
A head of state should act fiercely when territorial integrity and political independence of a country is being threatened. What is wrong with Uhuru?
For how long should the Ugandans be told that Migingo is in Mihuru Division, Nyatike sub-county, Migori County in the republic of Kenya? Our president should crack the whip.
Fellow comrades, remember that the deep waters sorrounding that tiny island is rich in Nileperch,a special type of fish with high economic value. We shall not leave Migingo for Museveni, a time is coming...!
