Gor Mahia set to unveil brazilian ze maria as their new coach on friday.

Sportpesa Premier League (SPL) reigning champions Gor Mahia will on Friday, March 11, unveil their new coach Brazilian Jose Marcelo Ferreira.

Ferreira, popularly known as Ze Maria, is set to arrive in Nairobi on March 9 and then be unveiled on the following day.

He will replace Scotsman Frank Nuttal who quit the club.

According to dimbasports.com , Gor officials have said that they have multiple applications but Ze Mahia CV impressed them.

Ze Maria, was a member of the Brazil lineup that clinched bronze in the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta.

He played 25 times for Brazil and was was proposed by his Kenyan based Italian agent immediately Nuttall quit the club.

On Monday, March 7, the day after AFC Leopards beat Gor 1-0 in SPL, the Green Army coach went to Egypt to take up the role of assistant coach at Egyptian giants Zamalek.

“ Yes I can confirm that we will be having a new coach by the end of the week. A ticket has already been sent and he arrives on Thursday and should be introduced to the players and the press on Friday ,” Gor Mahia secretary Ronald Ngala told dimbasports.com

Ze Maria will be accompanied by a fitness coach while Frank Ouna will deputise Ze Maria.

He was born in born in 1973 and was a good midfielder, spending most of his time at Italian Serie A. He featured for Perugia, Parma and Inter Milan clubs. He later joined Levante of Spain.
He retired in 2008 and pioneered Perugia Football School.

He has coached Serie D side S.S.D. Group Citta di Castello and and FC Catanzaro but didnt make much impact.

SEX PARTIES ARE REALITY IN CAMPUS, MOI UNIVERSITY GIRL CONFIRMS

Sex parties are normal among Kenyan youth, a campus student has said.

The female student, apparently at Moi University, called in on a popular radio show with a confession that shocked the presenters.

“These things are real… Student organise parties in campus and one girl sleeps with over 10 to 20 boys in that one party,” she said on Maina Kageni’s Classic 105 FM breakfast show on Tuesday breakfast show.

The girl added that the parties in campus usually have all kinds of drugs; from alcohol, bhang to cocaine.

Morality of Kenyan youth recently became a topic of discussion after reports emerged that a sex party was reportedly being organised in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa estate .

The party, dubbed Project X, was set to take place on Saturday, March 12, but was cancelled after public outrage.

The organisers blamed the media for branding it a sex party. The claimed that the erotic words and photos they used were purely for promotional purposes.

“It’s very saddening that the media has portrayed the event “Project X” in a manner that is wanting, branding the event as a sex party through the basis of one sentence ‘No one goes back home a virgin’,” they said in a statement.

According to them, Project X was meant to allow the youth socialise, have fun and new exposure to different people.

Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua confirmed that the party was cancelled. He said they cancelled it owing to immense public pressure and efforts by the board, security agencies, political and religious leaders.

Mutua linked Project X to pornography companies that apparently film intoxicated youths during sex parties and export the videos to be sold in other countries.

RAILA ODINGA HITS HARD ON AFRICAN PRESIDENTS WHO CLING TO POWER

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has minced no words for African presidents who are not willing to relinquish power even after the electorate demand so.

Delivering a speech in Israel, Raila seemed to hit hard on Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni who has been in the news since February 18 when the country went into polls, enabling him to controversially retain his seat as Uganda president.

In his speech, Raila says that even international observers have lacked words to explain the February 18 Uganda election which saw Museveni intimidate opposition leader Kizza Besigye and get to power for another five-year term.

“Uganda has just gone through an election that even observers are struggling to find the right words to describe,” Raila’s speech read in part.

He went further to bash African presidents who do not want to subscribe to term limits, saying they are derailing efforts to create a democratic continent.

The ODM leader says a number of African countries are having difficulties in deepening democratic culture and up-scaling their governance performance. According to him, the conflicting trend is eating into the institutional capacity of would-be democratic structures like parliament and the judiciary.

Raila believes that this is also paralyzing accountability bodies like the office of the Auditor General, the ombudsman and anti-corruption institutions.

“Our elections are getting more chaotic and more prone to manipulation. They are more likely to produce bitterly contested results that create divisions rather than unite the nation. Elections are failing to peacefully aggregate people’s preferences in the choice of political leadership. Incumbents are using them to confirm themselves to power or tear apart their nations,” Raila said.

The CORD coalition co-principal is on record disputing two presidential elections in which he lost to Mwai Kibaki in 2007 and Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013.

And this is why Raila believes that Africa needs to urgently address the question of how to make elections promote social cohesion, create rather than undermine political legitimacy and ensure inclusivity rather than entrenching exclusion.

Raila is a strong believer of term limits. He says that there is need for Africa to respect and uphold term limits as part of free and fair elections.

“Across the continent, many leaders are revising their constitutions to remove term limits. These quests for extensions are often couched in a language that portrays a leader’s desire for more time in office as a response to popular demands,” Raila added in what is seen as a jibe directed at Rwanda’s Paul Kagame and Burundi’s Pierre Nkurunzinza.

The two presidents are on record trying to change the constitution to give them more terms in office. On his part, Kagame says that Rwandan citizens are impressed with his leadership and want him to remain in power.


Raila was speaking in Israel during the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace forum where he had been invited by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Harry S. Truman Research Institute and the Africa Centre for Peace and Democracy.

Arsene Wenger has passionately defended his post as Arsenal manager and says he has become tired of people criticising him over his performance.
Wenger, aged 66, has been tolerating calls from supporters and pundits to to end his long reign with the Emirates side.

This season, the run of the Arsenal towards the league has been good from onset till recently when they wavered.

Thus, in the recent recent weeks, he has been slapped by a fresh wave of criticism after the team’s Barclays Premier League title hopes were hindered by some poor results.

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness referred to Arsenal “weak and insipid” and said they “bordered on a joke” when they fall to Man-United last month.

But Wenger, who is now the long serving manager now in English Premier League came out fighting fiercely when asked if the team’s supporters react over the remainder of the season would affect his thoughts over signing a new contract at the Emirates side, with his current deal expiring next summer.

“ Look, I have worked here for 19, 20 years and I’m always sitting here having to justify that I’m good enough to do the job. I have no problem to cope with everything but I find that a bit boring in the end. I always have to convince you that I am good enough. I worked for 35 years at the top level. What I find just boring is always sitting here after 19 years to face, ‘Do you think you are good enough?’ If I am not, somebody will tell me ,” he said at his news conference ahead of an FA Cup fifth-round replay at Hull.

Arsenal drew 2-2 draw at Tottenham on March 6, and this pleased some fans considering it was a derby.

This is a project in Nairobi which its organizers are yet to be identified. The name project X is derived from a movie ‘Project X’.A movie about a teens party that went out of control wrecking havoc in a whole town in the United States.

This Project X has promised to be the most sexually explicit sex party in Nairobi. Its organizers have set a place in Kileleshwa which its specific location they have not disclosed. Their invitation has gone viral drawing condemnation from members of the public and social media. According to invites going round, the party requires willing attendees to attend the party skimpily dressed[almost naked] and to make sure they have sex, it has also promise the participants that no one will go back home a virgin. Therefore, the police through the national police department have warned that they are doing all they can to prevent the party from going against the country’s established moral norms.

'OTONGLO' IS HEADED TO CAMPUS

Daniel Owira, the young man who won the heart of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta in the famous'Otonglo Time' has finally scored a decent C+ required for university entry at the KCSE results announced on 3rd March by Dr. Fred Matiangi, the CS for Education. This has put President Uhuru Kenyatta set to be a parent at a university soon.

Owira of the Highway Secondary School captured the imagination of the nation with his narrative in Mombasa during the 2013 annual Kenya Schools, Colleges and University Festival. He claimed, in his play, to be Silvester Ogwang' Pumbe who hailed from 'Nyanzoi Village'. His talent endeared the President to commit to paying his school fees till the end of his pedagogy journey.

"I have today offered full education sponsorship up to the university level to Daniel Owira when he visited me at State House. He is now one of my sons and will give me his report forms at the end of every term," read Uhuru's update on his facebook page after hosting the talented boy at State House Nairobi in May the same year.

"I know my future is secured because l tried my best and l am happy with the results.I thank the president so much for all the support," said a delighted Daniel Owira who wants to pursue Broadcast Journalism in future.

Owira was planning to have a small celebration organized for his teacher Cliff Nyakwar Dani after the completion of the IT Diploma lessons he is pursuing at a Highland State College sponsored by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli has told Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula to forget his presidency bid after an alleged beating by his wife.

Wetang’ula recorded a statement at Karen police station after claiming his wife beat him up in February.

Wakoli, Kenya Water Trust Agency director, said the incident was a big embarrassment to the Mulembe community.

“In Bukusu culture, if a woman, especially your wife, beats you up you are done completely and cannot say anything in front of elders,” he said.

Wakoli added that in the culture, if you are beaten by your wife you cannot report to the police.

“A man who wants to be President should put his house in order," he said during a funds drive at Mabanga church on Sunday.

Wakoli said he would rather not vote than vote for a Bukusu man who has embarrassed the community.

“I cannot support such a man even if he wants to be an MCA,” he said, adding he will vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 general election.

The director urged women not to beat their husbands, telling them "love them as the Bible says".

Some Bukusu elders have said they will perform a cleansing ritual to protectK Wetang’ula's children, whom they say may inherit the “curse”.

Trans Nzoia woman representative Janet Nangabo said men who are not responsible and are vying for national leadership should be dealt with accordingly.
“If you men cannot handle some things, it is better to leave them to us,” she said.

Bungoma woman representative Reginalda Wanyonyi said cases of gender violence have increased.

They need to be dealt with in a sober manner, Wanyonyi said, and urged women to solve marital problems amicably.

“We cannot have women beating up our leaders until they report to the police," she said.

Wanyonyi said funds for affirmative action given to women representatives will educate residents on GBV.

She said cases of men being beaten by their wives also need to be addressed.

FRANK NUTTAL HAS LEFT GOR MAHIA FOR EGYPTIAN'S ZIMALEK

Days after being humiliated by local rivals AFC Leopards in a pulsating encounter in the Mashemeji Derby, Gor Mahia are grappling with losing their head coach Frank Nuttall to Egyptian giants Zamalek.

Reports indicate that Nuttall left the country on Monday, March 7, for Egypt where he has agreed to become assistant coach to compatriot Alex McLeish.

“Gor Mahia’s head coach Frank Nuttall is in Cairo negotiating a deal to be the assistant coach of Zamalek fc. He landed there 2hrs ago,” sports pundit and commentator Fred Arocho wrote in one of his social media accounts on Monday.

Nuttall is expected to attend Zamalek’s training session on Tuesday, March 8, before their next match against Cameroonian side Union of Cameroon in the CAF Champions League, Soka.co.ke quotes a source as saying.

Nuttall’s departure comes two days after Gor Mahia lost their first match in the Kenya premier league since 2014 when he took over as manager.

The lose was inflicted by the club’s bitter rivals AFC Leopards. The defeat leaves Gor Mahia 12 th in the table with three points from four matches while Leopards lead with 10 points from the same number of matches.

Speaking after the game, Nuttall, who did not indicate he was quitting the club, rued missed chances which allowed Ingwe to grab the win in the 80 th minute.

This comes after K’Ogalo board sacked Nuttall following collapse in contract negotiations, only for the wrath of the fans to lead to the intervention of club patron Raila Odinga that saw Nuttall reinstated as manager.

The club has since continued to register poor results, their latest defeat coming in the hands of Ingwe.
Nuttall joined Gor on September 3, 2014, having been chosen by former coach Bobby Williamson who took over the national team, Harambee Stars. Williamson has since been sacked and his place taken over by youthful coach Stanley Okumbi.

Then, Nuttall signed a three month contract that was extended to two years in January 2015.

During his time at Gor Mahia, he steered the club to four titles; the DStv Super Cup, two KPL titles and the KPL Top 8.

Word has it that Gor Mahia have already spoken to former Brazil international Jose Mercelo Ferrairra “Ze Maria” to become the next Gor Mahia coach.

The club will send air tickets to Mercelo who is expected to arrive in the country on Thursday.

Mercelo was capped 25 times by Brazil. He won Bronze with the Samba Boys at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

WETANGULA REDICULED AFTER GETTING A BEATING FROM WIFE

Over the weekend, the Sunday Nation edition on March 6 had reported that Wetangula and his wife Ann had accused each other of assault and both the senator and wife recorded statements at Lang’ata police station.

According to the report, Wetangula is said to have accused his wife of infidelity.
He said it is at that point when she got furious and attacked him.

He is said to have sustained injuries on his head, left hand, left leg and chest.

He was treated at Karen Hospital and issued with a P3 form.

Police surgeon confirmed that Wetangula sustained multiple soft tissue injuries.

The surgeon said he had a swelling on the left side of his scalp and injuries on the chest, wrist, elbow and ankle which could have been caused by a blunt object.

The Lang’ata police officers are said to have transferred the issue to Karen Police Station as that is where the alleged incident took place.

ODM WINS MALINDI SEAT AS JUBILEE TAKES KERICHO

The Kericho by-election was being held to fill the Senate seat vacated by Charles Keter after he was appointed the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum. It has emerged as a battle between the Jubilee Alliance Party and a newly resurgent Kanu. Jubilee’s Aaron Cheruiyot is up against Paul Sang of Kanu, who is a former Health Minister and one-time MP for Bureti. Kanu’s chairman in Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, the son of Kenya’s second President. Political watchers see the by-election as a litmus rest of the Deputy President’s continued influence in the Rift Valley.

In Malindi, the by-election was being held to fill the National Assembly seat previously occupied by Dan Kazungu, who is now the Cabinet Secretary for Mining. Cord’s William Mtengo faces Mr Philip Charo of the Jubilee Alliance Party. Both national as well as county officials from Cord, which sponsored Mr Kazungu to Parliament, have been a strong presence in Malindi throughout the campaign.

A number of incidents happened in Malindi over the course of the election day. ODM Communications Director Mr Philip Etale was arrested in his hotel room at 1am and his laptop confiscated. ODM spokesman Dennis Onyango said on his Facebook page that police also confiscated his phone.

ODM's William Mtengo won Malindi by-election with 15,582 votes while Jubilee's Philip Charo came second place with 9,243 votes. Other contenders were Labour Party of Kenya’s Attas Shariff Ali with 1,547 votes; Kadu-Asili’s Reuben Katana (353); Social Party of Kenya’s David Kithunga (68); Nelson Gunga Benjamin of Federal Party of Kenya (35); and Chama Cha Uzalendo's Peter Ponda (26).

Jubilee's Aaron Cheruiyot won Kericho by-election with 109,358 while KANU's
Kipkorir M. Sang came second with 56,307. Daniel Tonui of NVP 772.

CONGRATS FOR PEACEFULL ELECTIONS

Elections come and go. The people of Kericho and Malindi are to be commended for conducting themselves peacefully, with dignity and exercising their fundamental right to elect a new senator and MP, respectively, in the by-elections yesterday.

Both polls were conducted without major disruptive incident and the voters’ determination to get things right indicates a political maturity that needs to be both nurtured and emulated.

The 12th General Election will be held in barely 16 months from the Kericho and Malindi polls and it is to be hoped that it will register the same good behaviour and determination to be represented by people of the electorate’s choice.

The campaign trail in both Kericho and Malindi was marked by all manner of allegations, including about rigging beforehand and billions of shillings injected into one side of the race.

However, in the end, sobriety prevailed, the voters did their bit and the IEBC its job.

The police and other national security agencies, including a detachment of KDF, did their job well too.

And even if there are those that do not wish to accept the results for whatever reason, legal redress exists.

MZEE MOI WORRIED ABOUT STATE OF CORRUPTION IN KENYA

RETIRED President Daniel Moi yesterday broke his long silence, warned that corruption was getting out of hand and urged Kenyans to help the government to wage the war on graft.

Speaking at a church service at Kapsabet, Moi said corruption was undermining service delivery in government and it should not be condoned anywhere.
“Ongen ole chorset ko kiy ne ya . . . amwochini Christianik tugul kotoret serikali kotar kii ya (You know corruption is bad . . . I am appealing to all Christians to help the government eliminate this bad thing)”, said Moi.

Moi, who has kept off active politics and has been spending a lot of his time at his Kabarak home, urged all Kenyans, especially public servants, to help fight corruption.

“If you are senior government anywhere, please help in stopping this bad thing that is giving the government a bad image,” Moi added.

He stayed off the Kericho by-election campaign politics, saying Sunday was meant for prayers.
Moi’s son Gideon, the Senator for Baringo, is leading an onslaught against Deputy President William Ruto in today’s Kericho by-election for the senatorial seat.

In November last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta declared corruption a national security threat and ordered private companies to sign an approved code of conduct to transact business with government.

Two weeks ago while on a state visit to Israel, President Kenyatta said Kenyans were “experienced in stealing and perpetrating other crimes”.

Kenyans, according to the President, were also abusers and promoted tribalism.
Kenyatta has been accused of failing to do enough to curb corruption, especially in government institutions, where billions in taxpayer money have been stolen.

Kenyatta’s Jubilee administration has been hit by a series of scandals since 2013, one of the most infamous ones being the National Youth Service scam.

From the ‘Hustler Jet’ saga, to the Sh13 billion NSSF Tassia II and Hazina Towers projects, to the standard-gauge railway project and
the NYS saga, to the Eurobond and the Youth Fund, among others, the government has struggled to convince Kenyans of its commitment to the war on graft.

Moi warned corruption was a vice that would ruin the nation and must be fought with the all the might it deserves.

He said it was ironical that most of those involved in graft were Christians who thronged the churches every weekend for prayers.

Moi and the presiding Bishop of the African Inland Church, the Right Reverend Silas Yego, told all those who confess Christianity to assist the government in the war on graft.

They spoke at the Kapsabet AIC station in Nandi county, when Moi presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for an ultra-modern 4,000-seat church complex.

He was accompanied by former nominated MP Mark Too and the AIC chairman, Andrew Tuimur, who is also the Principal Secretary for Livestock.

Tuimur said the new church would cost Sh120 million and so far over Sh20 million has been raised.

Kenyans, the former head of state concluded, should go back to the true Christian teachings on corruption and other social evils and help win the war on graft.

AFTER UHURU, RAILA VISITS ISRAEL

The son from the lake who claims to eat fish daily has been pinpointed as one of the remaining African leaders who are respected and honored when it comes to good governance. He has been in Boston, US for the same and other places to give lectures on good governance, and now he is on it again accompanied by Senators Dr Agnes Zani and Prof Anyang' Nyong'o to deliver the same in Israel.

Opposition leader and CORD bigwig Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga traveled to Israel on Saturday evening, 5th March 2016 for a one week visit during which he will address the first Africa and Israel Policy and Leadership Conference that kicks off on Monday, 7th March and ends on 10th March 2016.

The Conference's sessions will feature on Governance, Education, Sustainability, the Middle East and Public Diplomacy to be addressed by various African and Israel leaders. However, Rt.Hon Raila Odinga is set to address the conference on the subject of Governance in Africa. We hope 'Baba' will condemn the cocoons of dictatorship and corruption and even provide the appropriate measures that will help lay groundwork for reforms in African style of governance.

In Raila's address, it is expected that he will condemn the corruption cartels who have commandered African leadership, most of whom are determined to sweep corruption acts under the carpets. Remember, government officials of Kenya have perfected in executing corruption deals working in cahoots with international actors making Kenya emerge the third most corrupt country in Africa. Surely, shall we get a leader of integrity to kill this dragon that has brought African economy to its knees?

Finally, the conference will take place at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. It is organized jointly by the Harry S. Truman Research Institute of the advancement of Peace, the African Center for Peace and Democracy and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

MURDER!! Abortion In Hostel G

It's yet another heartbreaking instance of abortion in Moi university’s hostel G preserved for male students. Comrades in second floor woke up in the morning to take a shower on Saturday especially after a tiresome night full of laughs at the student center during the Oebaism event. To their uttermost amazement, a rudimentary foetus lay helplessly in a pool of maternal blood in one of the bathrooms! As other comrades were busy enjoying themselves during the Oebaism event, it's evident that an inhumane, shameless and repugnant abortionist was busy presumably assisted by her boyfriend flushing out the innocent developing foetus.

This comes after barely a fortnight when the faithful marched all over Moi as they urged comrades to stand for chastity and choose purity. Abortion in Moi is not news since two years ago another abortion took place in hostel B which is also a males’ hostel. This enigmatic act left many comrades angered. They expressed their utter dislike to the comrades who did this especially in the males’ hostel. Some termed this as an abomination and abhorrence.

Minds became obscured as the comrades viewed the foetus and others took the photo. They expressed their audacious Chutzpa as they lamented of the bewitched boy who assisted the stirrer to abort. Comrades called for the enforcement of the 10a.m to 10pm rule saying that it would bear fruits. Residents of hostel G said that their hostel had changed from being a male hostel to a ladies hostel since as late as 1pm girls are seen moving climbing up and down the stairs. They raised an alarm of the increased rate of 'exiles' in that hostel. Others swore to deal ruthlessly with girls who will be spotted in that hostel beyond 10pm whether accompanied with their boyfriends or not.

An anonymous comrade bitterly lamented that their room had been made a venue of orgies making it unbearable for him to reside in that hostel. The esoteric action angered the housekeeper and the janitor together with the cleaners of hostel G, who found themselves in a difficult situation of cleaning the washrooms in that floor. Comrades called on the hostels and catering department to ensure that there is enough condoms in the dispensers. As the legacy publication and the Moi University at large, we condemn this inhumane act which is a crime and call on the university's management to stress the 10-10 rule and urge the guidance and counseling department to offer counseling to the expectant student-mothers. All comrades are also called upon for responsible sexual behaviors.

Seve Gat’s- she of photoshop fame is getting her passport ready. She will be traveling to China after all. This time for real.

A Kenyan girl from Meru county wanted to go to China so bad. She didn’t have the means to, sadly. She resorted to her photoshop skill edit a series of photos to lie to her friends that she went to China.

Her artistry or lack thereof, made her an overnight social media sensation. Blogs all over the country were splattered with her lackluster, laughable skill in editing photos.

On Saturday, March 5 someone came to her rescue. It turns out that Seve Gat’s (the queen of photoshop) will be going to China after-all. This time though, not through her Photoshop program.

One of the founders of Nailab, a startup company for entrepreneurs and innovators, Sam Gichuru has offered to see Seve Gat’s dream come true.

MOI UNIVERSITY: Best Engineering Institution

Moi University has retained its bragging rights as the best engineering institution of higher learning at the ongoing Eldoret Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) exhibition show. The institution that prides in its motto, “Foundation of Knowledge” also topped in the category of Best University stand.

Moi University entered to compete in five categories and emerged best in two, and came second in three. MOI UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCORES D+ IN 2015 KCSE

A University graduate who sat for the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination scored a mean grade of D+ (plus).

Geoffrey Ngania - a Philosophy, Language and Religious graduate from Moi University - had taken a second shot at the exams and failed compared to the first time in 1989 when he scored a C+ (plus).

The 46-year-old, however, stated he was happy with his performance, considering the various commitments he had to put up with while studying.

“I am so elated, I did well considering that I started studying in March last year after registration. I did nine subjects. I had to juggle between work and family. I took a month long leave to prepare for the exams in the final month,” the father of three said.

According to Ngania, he decided to retake the exams 26 years later, to encourage school dropouts from his Sabaot Community to sit for the examination.

With the D+, he emerged as one of the best students in a class of 67 private candidates, evaluated at Eldoret Central Primary School.

41-YEAR OLD PASTOR RECORDS AN 'A' IN KCSE

A 41-year old Eldoret pastor was among the students who received the recently released results of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

Pastor Mike Bitok, the senior pastor at New International Church, Eldoret, scored an impressive mean grade of A with an aggregate of 81 points.

His congregation was impressed by the example modeled by their pastor who never got the privilege to go to school.
"I was not privileged to go to school because my mother was married to an elderly man as a sixth wife. The man did not attach great importance to education so I ended up in the streets of Eldoret as an urchin," Bitok was quoted by the Standard.

Pastor Bitok registered as a private student for the national exams to challenge himself and prove to the young generation that anything was possible.
The father of two also sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination in 2011 and scored an exemplary 396 marks.

ANOTHER CASE OF ABORTION IN MU

The Moi University fraternity has again been left in a great shock after the cleaners of one of the institution's hostel (Hostel G) found a foetus lying beside a sanitary pad. The seemingly tiny but fully developed foetus was found dumped in one of the bathrooms in Hostel G, a male hostel in the main campus. This gruesome find was discovered on Sartuday (05/03/2015) morning.

HON. DUALE'S SON 2015 KCSE RESULTS REVEALED

It is another time for joy and disappointment in equal measure as parents, guardians and candidates receive Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results.

National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale was one of the proud parents following Kenya National Examinations Council’s announcement of the 2015 KCSE results on March 3.

His son, Abdul Razak Aden, performed well in the examinations and he could not resist sharing the results on his social media accounts.

“My son has attained exemplary results in KCSE 2015. I thank the almighty God, his mum, the principal and teachers of Mangu. Congratulations!” he said.

Aden Duale’s son, who sat the exams at Mangu High School, had a mean grade of A- (minus) with 77 points. Razak scored straight As in Mathematics, Biology and History; A- in Business Studies; and B+ in English, Kiswahili and Chemistry.

According to the 2015 KCSE results released by Education Cabinet Fred Matiangi, only 31.52% (165,766) of the candidates attained minimum university entry mean grade of C+ (plus) and above. About 525,802 candidates registered for 2015 KCSE exams; a rise from 485,547 in 2014.

Number of candidates with mean grade of A (plain) dropped from 3,073 in to 2,636 in 2015. 75% (1,976) of the top scorers were male.

The 2015 KCSE candidates lost close to month due to the September teachers’ strike that paralyzed activities in public schools. Knec
declined to adjust the exam timetable to compensate for the lost time.

There were also concerns of
widespread cheating in the examinations.

You may find a family stricken with poverty and the lineage exists as poverty stricken from generation to generation same to the extremely rich families. One may struggle in life so much that there exists no hope but on the other side of the coin another individual may never work but succeeds in life so much that you may think they sowed before reaping. Does luck really choose if God is fair? Most people have fallen lucky in life such that they don’t even remember their creator and surprisingly they continue to prosper. In another instance, someone has been going to church for years hoping that the same God who blesses others does it to him but remains desperate for the rest of his life with the words “It is well with my soul “as a console.

In campus and other learning institutions, it’s evident that students have different learning capacities. There is the native intelligence and crystallized intelligence. Those individuals blessed with knowledge without struggle or much reading and highly achieve the so called flying colors are the native intelligence. Yet that individual who struggles to and from the library, writing and concentrating during classes has crystallized intelligence. It’s so sad to see someone read so hard and come out with what he least expected while another is very comfortable and does not study much but gets beyond everyone’s expectations.

Am sure each one of us has a friend or that cheeky classmate who dropped out of school only to find him doing a great job beyond your expectations. He may even become your employer yet you have struggled beyond reasonable doubts. My friend the only secret in this life is working smart not hard .Education is essential in itself but also have other alternatives at hand like creativity and talents. In the Kenya we live in creativity will soon and have already started being the course means of prosperity. Corruption, theft, immorality are heads up among the highly educated so in some years to be the creative and talented are going to rule.

THE BEST THIEVES HAVE IT ALL

'Mwalimu come only if you have the real one.' This was the condition given to me when I tried to poke my nose in form Four West to have some final revision for History paper one which was to be done the next day morning. I only had a few mock papers and some predicted questions I had been sampling for revision.

As I remained standing by the doorstep trying to figure out which teaching theory to apply on these defiant students, I heard a voice, not sure of whom talked, but I guessed it was for Phyllis, the class prefect. "Sir, these people are loaded don't waste your time"

And now four months later, each student is to reap what he saw. The Cabinet Secretary for Education Dr. Fred Matiang’i yesterday officially announced the 2015 K.C.S.E results to mark the end of anxiety for most students.

According to KNEC, 5,101 candidates got their results cancelled with the rate of exam irregularities hiking to 70 cent. Throughout the country, cases of irregularities were reported in 305 centers. Out of 42 counties, it is only Isiolo County where no case of irregularity was reported.

The highest statistics were reported in Nairobi, Makueni and Meru counties which affected 151,382, 382 and 160 candidates respectively.

With this menace of exam cheating, I remain with a lot of questions concerning the future of the education sector.

What do they supervise? Is teachers’ work over? Will students work hard again? And who is to blame for this problem? Of course who to blame won't help at this moment but at least it can show us where to be careful next time. The teacher's promotion is based on student's performance. Won't I steal for them so that I am promoted now that I earn peanuts at job group G? Parents buy for their children the papers because the university is the limit these days, not the sky. And the vendors? KNEC officials.

I agree with KNUT Secretary General, Wilson Sossion, who commented that it is unfair to cancel the results of candidates due to exam irregularities because students don’t set exams and that the responsibility of exam irregularities rests solely with the examination council.

KITUMBUA CHAINGIA MCHANGA BUNGOMA

Tarehe 27 ya februari ilikuwa ni siku ambayo wanazuo kutoka Bungoma walijawa na furaha ghaya kutokana na ziara ya waziri wa elimu, utamaduni na spoti katika kaunti hiyo Bi Berril Mutekhele. Wanafunzi hasa waliohudhuria mandhari hayo walifurahi baada ya waziri kutuza juhudi zao kwa kopola maji kwa hisani ya koo zao.

Shamrashamra ziliendelea hadi kufikia siku ya jumatatu ambapo meli ilianza kuyumbayumba. Makubaliano yaliokuwepo siku ya jumamosi yalikuwa kwamba angalau kiasi cha shilingi elfu kumi zilizotolewa na Bi Mutekhele zingehifadhiwa kwenye hazina ya chama cha MUBSA ili ziwe akiba ambayo siku zote haiozi. Lakini je, hayo yalitekelezwa?

Duru za kuaminika ni kuwa ni shilingi elfu tatu na miatano pekee ndizo zilizo kwenye akiba ya chama kinyume na makubaliano. Ikumbukwe kuwa kati ya shilingi elfu sabini zilizotolewa na waziri, shilingi mia tano kila aliyehudhuria. Idadi kamili ya wale waliohudhuria kulingana na wadaku wangu ilikuwa kati ya watu 64 na 67 pekee. Ukizingatia idadi hiyo, shilingi zisizozidi elfu thelathini na nane ziligawiwa wanazuo hao huku pesa zote zilizosazwa zikibaki mikononi mwa Rais wa chama Bw. Werunga Wisdom.

Mshikeshike ulizuka jana katika mkutano wa kila wiki kwenye ukumbi wa NCT7 baada ya kusomwa kwa makadirio ya pesa hizo. Kulingana na makadirio ya Rais, yamkini wanazuo 106 bali si 64 hivyo mgao ulikuwa hamsini na sita elfu ingawa awali kwenye mtandao wa Whatsapp alikuwa amedai ni idadi ya wanazuo 112 ndio waliohudhuria. Vile vile, alidai kuwa kila kiongozi alipewa shilingi elfu moja kila mmoja jambo ambalo baadhi ya viongozi walipuuzilia mbali wakisema walipewa idadi sawa na wanachama.

Nickson Barasa ambaye ndiye aliyemwalika Bi.Mutekhele ilibuniwa kwa ghafla ili kufanyia uchunguzi wa kina kuhusu makadirio ya pesa hizo. Mwenyekiti wa Chama pamoja na uongozi wa MUBSA wamepewa hadi jumamosi wiki hii kukadiria kupotea kwa pesa hizo la sivyo wachukuliwe hatua ya kisheria kando na kuwashurutisha wajiuzulu.

Inaaminika kuwa viongozi wa MUSO;Elsie Muhonja ambaye ni naibu mwenye kiti na Oliver Bill ambaye ni mwanasheria wa MUSO wamefahamishwa kuhusu uwezekano wa kuombwa usaidizi wa kisheria na wakaahidi kusaidia ilikikukinusuru kitumbua.

WHEN WILL OUR PROBLEMS GET SOLVED

It was just a chilly Monday and things seemed well and in order, not forgetting the issues that were raised by students from school of Education on the problems they are undergoing at their stay here at Moi University.
Some of the key issues raised were:
1. When the Students on teaching practice could be assessed because it was long since they had been sent out to field.
2. They were demanding for the release of second and third year students as it had delayed for long time.
2. The administration was to account for the untaught courses in school of Education.
4. The comrades also were demanding for Braille keyboard for the special needs students.
5. Demanded for field trips as they had paid for.
6. Requested for adequate lecture halls.
7. They wanted serious practical’s for science courses.
Due to no respond to the above matters the comrades swore to get involve in peaceful demonstration to urge the administration to respond towards their great issues.
Some students converged at the Student centre at around 8am in the morning, and led way to pushing their fellow students out of classes.
At the Student centre the comrades were addressed by their leaders who vowed that no lesson would be attended to unless all the issues are sorted out and clear description given out.
The comrades led their way towards the Administration for them to be addressed by the Authourity.
At the administration the angry comrades were addressed by the dean of the school of Education who didn’t put all the issues clear that caused misunderstanding between him and the comrades.
The second to address comrades was DVC in charge of Student affair who promised the following:
1. The results would be out by 1st March for second and third year students.
2. He promised that the Students on attachment would be assessed as soon as possible as required capital had been released into the accounts.
3. He apologized for any inconvenience faced.
What still worries us is that will all this be fulfilled as soon as possible, the administration has to improve its ways of working to offer comfortable environment for students..

        Maandamano ya wanagenzi hawa yaling'o nanga nje ya ukumbi wa wanafunzi.Kinara wa masuala ya elimu Bwana Jairo Moses aliwahakikishia uwepo wake na kuwanasihi wanazuo hao kuandaa maandamano ya amani.Alisema kuwa ni lazima masuala yao yaweze kujibiwa bila kupoteza muda.
        Bwana Jared Mogire,Oliver Bill,Elvis Langas na viongozi wengine hawakusazwa.Walionyesha umoja wao kwa kuungana na wanazuo hao waliokuwa na hamaki zisizo kifani.Waliwaondoa wanafunzi wote waliokuwa katika majumba ya mihadhara waandamane na kuimba nyimbo waama,umoja ni nguvu utengano ni udhaifu.
        Wanafunzi hawa walilalamikia masuala yafuatayo:
    1.Wahadhiri kutoa utathmini kwa wanafunzi walio nyanjani.
    2. Kucheleweshwa kwa matokeo ya mtihani kwa wanafunzi wa mwaka wa pili na wa tatu.
   3. Kutofunzwa kwa kozi za kimsingi.
   4. Wanafunzi kutozuru nyanjani kimasomo.
   5.Ukosefu wa vyumba vya kutosha vya mihadhara.
   6. Ukosefu wa vifaa vya kufanyia majaribio kwa wanafunzi wa masomo ya sayansi.
        Wanazuo hao walionyesha hamaki zao kwa kuimba nyimbo mbalimbali zikiwemo "Walimu msilale,bado mapambano,bado mapambano." Bendera ya chuo iliteremshwa nusu mlingoti ishara ya maombolezi.Hatimaye mlingoti wa bendera hiyo ukang'olewa.
       Iliwalazimu wasimamizi wa chuo kuandaa mkutano wa dharura ili kuafikia majibu mahususi na kuidhibiti hali.Kupitia kwa memo,Profesa Nathan Ogechi aliwahakikishia wanafunzi hao kuwa wenzao walio nyanjani wataanza kufanyiwa utathmini kuanzia Jumatano wiki hii.Matokeo ya mtihani yatatolewa kuanzia Jumanne tarehe moja,na wanafunzi wote waliolipa pesa za kuzuru nyanjani wataenda bila kupingwa.
       Aliahidi kuwa masuala mengine yatashughulikiwa ipasavyo na suluhu ya kudumu kupatikana.
       Kilicho na mwanzo hakikosi mwisho hatimaye maandamano hayo yalifikia ukingoni na kila mmoja kurejelea shughuli zake za kawaida.

Mabingwa wa ligi kuu ya Premier nchini,Gor Mahia wamepigwa faini ya shilingi laki moja baada ya kukosa kutuma ratiba yao kule Madagascar kwa wakati. K'Ogalo walipigwa faini hiyo wakati wakichuana na CNaPS kule Madagascar kwa mkondo wa pili wa mechi za kuwania ubingwa was Afrika(CAF).Gor walipoteza mechi hiyo na kubanduliwa kwenye michuano hiyo.
Ripoti kutoka kwa usimamizi wa kandanda nchini( FKF) zimekiri kuwa kamati hiyo imo tayari kulipia Gor Mahia faini hiyo kwa vile CAF haitambui klabu. Kwa kweli Kenya ilifeli kwenye mechi hizo baada ya timu zote mbili zilizoshiriki kubanduliwa michuanoni na timu ambazo wangebandua.
Licha ya kukamilisha msimu bila kupoteza mechi yoyote, K'Ogalo ilicharazwa na CNaPS mabao mawili kwa moja hapa nyumbani kabla ya kupoteza tena bao moja kwa nunge kule Madagascar. Bandari nayo ilipoteza mawili kwa nunge dhidi St Lupopo kutoka Demokrasia ya Kongo kabla ya kutoka sare ya bao moja kwa moja hapa nyumbani. Hata hivyo, kiini cha matokeo hayo hakijabainika.

Mabao kumi na saba yapatikana;Mathare United yang'aa

Jumla ya mabao kumi na saba yalifungwa wakati wa mechi za ligi kuu nchini wikendi iliyopita. Baadhi ya mabao hayo yalipatikana wakati wa mechi ya Sofapaka dhidi ya Mathare United Jumamosi iliyopita.Mabingwa wa ligi hiyo Gor Mahia, Bandari, Ulinzi Stars na AFC Leopards hawakushiriki kwenye mechi hizo kwa vile walikuwa wanaliwakilisha taifa katika mechi za kitaifa.
Mathare United ilitua juu ya jedwali baada ya kuwanyuka Sofapaka mabao matano kwa mawili. Timu hiyo ambayo mkufunzi wake ni Francis Kimanzi ilishinda kufuatia mabao ya Obadiah Ndege, Erick Johanna, Noah Abich na Roy Syamba.
Batoto ba Mungu chini ya ukufunzi wa David Ouma, walipata mabao mawili ya kufutia machozi kupitia kwa Brian Nyakan na Heritier Luvualu. Sofapaka imo nafasi ya kumi na moja kwenye jedwali.
Timu ya Tusker ilinyakua ushindi wa mabao mawili kwa moja dhidi ya Nairobi Stars .Mabao ya Tusker yalipatikana kutoka kwa Humphrey Mieno na Ekaliani Ndolo huku Eugene Asike akijifunga. Muhoroni Youth ilinyuka Thika United mabao mawili kwa moja.

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVES PILLS INCREASE ECTOPIC PREGNANCIES

Ectopic pregnancy is very serious and has a bad effect in the woman’s body. It is a pregnancy in which the foetus develops outside the womb, typically in the fallopian tube of which it is very dangerous.
The use of the emergency contraceptives pills is on the rise especially by the young campus ladies, who use them to try to hide their evil act. Survey done by the Kenyatta National Hospital sought to identify the association between the pills, specifically progesterone, and such pregnancies.
According to Dr Mary Maina ectopic pregnancies remain a major cause of deaths in mothers, especially in the developing world. She said the rate of deaths from such pregnancies is 10 times higher in developing countries
It has been released that most of the people who use pills do not use them appropriately. Either they overdose or under dose which is likely to bring bad effect to them.
During the study of the 40th Ruby Annual Scientific Conference Society (Kogs) that was held in Kisumu, over 120 women were diagnosed with ectopic pregnancies.
During the menstrual cycles 27% of women are confirmed to have taken the emergency contraceptives pills. Still under the study report 72% of women take the pills 24 hours after intercourse. The risk of the ectopic pregnancy increase therefore 12 times in women who have pills.
Taking of the emergency contraceptives pills may seem to be a concealing object but the repercussion is of great loss because not only our loved ones needs us but the whole society at large.
